Follow up: UP 844 To Visit Milliken On June 26

Colorado Railroads has a follow up on the post, "UP 844 To Visit Milliken On June 26" According to Union Pacific's press release, issued today,

The "City of Milliken Centennial Special" will depart Cheyenne on June 25 at 5 p.m. and arrive in Milliken at 7:30 p.m. No. 844 will be on public display at the Broad St. crossing in Milliken on June 26 beginning at 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., before it departs Milliken at 7 p.m., arriving back in Cheyenne at 10:30 p.m.
"This will be the first time No. 844 has operated over the line between La Salle and Milliken and we look forward to bringing a piece of living history to help the community celebrate their Centennial," said Dick Hartman, Union Pacific's director of public affairs for Colorado and Wyoming.
That was the information we'd been waiting on. Broad Street is the main east-west road through town.

It looks like the routing will go south on the UP Main from Cheyenne, until it leaves the main just south of La Salle, heading west under the US 85 overpass on the Fort Collins Subdivision. This branch connecting with Milliken and its interchance point the Great Western Railway of Colorado crosses dark territory and unprotected crossings county dirt roads at regular intervals. In other words, the UP Steam crew will likely need to take it easy through the dirt clogged crossings and the third-class rail. Don't expect them to come barreling through like the Cheyenne Frontier Days special.

Here's the section of the UP Steam schedule and GPS tracking link.
