Postponed: 6th Avenue Light Rail Bridge Roll-out

Due to bad weather, the RTD FasTracks team has chosen to postpone the planned roll-out of the 6th Avenue Light Rail Bridge from this weekend until next weekend, weather permitting.

Per a release today by RTD and the FasTracks Project:
Due to inclement weather, FasTracks West Corridor postpones roll-out of 6th Avenue Light Rail Bridge one week for April 30-May 2.

Due to the current and forecasted weather, the roll-out of the 6th Avenue light rail bridge has been postponed until next weekend, Friday, April 30-Sunday,May 2 following the same planned schedule and detours.  The West Corridor project team’s main concern is the safety of workers and the traveling public in inclement weather conditions, and the precision necessary to successfully complete this activity.

"We want our crews to focus on the details of this complicated operation not the weather,” said Jim Starling, RTD’s West Corridor Project Manager.  “Postponing the transport for one week is a much better alternative for ensuring a successful bridge placement.”

Please note that next weekend’s schedule is also contingent upon the weather. For more information, visit www.RTD-FasTracks.com.
Better to push it out a week than risk lives and equipment.
